Hi-Temp Brazing started to Torch Braze Brass Waveguide Assemblies in 1974. We continue to offer torch brazing services for our clients as we further expand our Dip Brazing abilities. Brazing itself is a metal joining process whereby two or more close fitting parts are heated to more than 840°F and a filler metal is applied that has a melting temperature below that of the base metal. The filler metal is brought slightly above it melting temperature and flows into the joint by capillary attraction.
Since brazing does not melt the base metal of the joint, it allows for much tighter control over tolerances and produces a clean joint without the need for extraneous finishing after the work has been done. Complex and multi-part assemblies can be brazed cost-effectively. Brazing can also be coated over for protective purposes.
Torch Brazing is the most common method of mechanized brazing in use. It is best used in small production volumes. It joins relatively small assemblies made from materials that do not oxidize at the brazing temperature or can be protected from oxidation with a flux. Heat is applied using a gas flame placed on or near the joint being brazed.
In Torch Brazing, the most commonly used filler metals include aluminum-silicon alloys, silver-base alloys, and copper-zinc alloys. There are three commonly used forms of Torch Brazing; manual, machine, and automatic. Manual Torch Brazing is a procedure where heat is applied using a hand held or fixed in position torch. Machine Torch Brazing is a mix of both automated and manual with an operator placing the braze material and jigging parts while a machine carries out the actual braze process. Automatic Torch Brazing eliminates the need for an operator except for loading and unloading of the machine.
There are very few leading companies like Hi-Temp Brazing providing Braze Material, Metal Brazing, Steel Brazing and Joint Brazing Services without compromising in terms of quality. Brazing is a metal joining process whereby a filler braze material is heated above 450 C and distributed between two or more close-fitting parts. It is similar to soldering except the temperatures used to melt the filler metal are above 450 C (842F).
Most commonly used metals can be brazed to brazing specifications. Examples of this are Brazing Steel, Brazing Steel to Copper, Brazing Aluminum, Brazing Brass, and Brazing Silver. We are one of the few companies that can Braze Steel To Copper at a competitive market price without compromising a bit in terms of quality.
Hi-Temp Brazing is a generational family run business with almost forty years of professional experience in the field of brazing and fabrication. Our large 19,200 facility is equipped with all modern machinery and we are capable of handling any project. Whether it's Metal Brazing or Steel Brazing or Joint Brazing Services, Hi-Temp Brazing is the name you can trust both in terms of quality and affordability.
